About Us
Design Place is a multi-disciplinary firm based in Bangalore. The approach to design is informed by a deep understanding and interpretation of site, program, local climate and building traditions, resulting in solutions that are environmentally and economically sustainable. There is a strong emphasis on the making of the building with a focus on space, material and structure, and the unbuilt aspects of the program, as we believe that the unbuilt contributes to the architecture of the place as much as the built program.
The projects handled by the firm range from small additions to existing buildings, adaptive reuse of spaces, houses of varying scales, housing, projects in hospitality, commercial buildings, industries and institutional buildings in urban, peri-urban and rural settings.
